Wrensted Office Makeover

CREATIVE HOME OFFICE

A LACK-LUSTER SPARE BEDROOM GETS AN UPGRADE

A series of past remodels turned this spare bedroom into a jumble of accidental spaces. The goal was to create a home office space that could be functional and good looking so the family would want to spend time in the room everyday. To keep the home office from feeling sterile we layered in soft finishes like the red velvet sofa, custom drapery panels, and a custom ottoman covered in Claremont’s Tree of Life pattern.

The addition of a barrel-vault, and the custom white oak tambour paneling, created an eye-catching focal point for the desk area. The room was painted in Dunn Edward’s Alabaster to create a warm envelope with contrasting trim on the original wood windows in Dunn Edward’s Dark Shadows. Finally, we added alabaster wall sconces and brass star ceiling fixtures to soften the room at night. The finished result is a room that’s worth hanging out in long after work is done.

WE FOCUSED ON THE MAIN OFFICE FIRST, BECAUSE IT RARELY WORKS OUT WHEN YOU ASK A SPARE BEDROOM TO SERVE TOO MANY PURPOSES.
